When one contestant responded that "it's all about the guys being pretty," when asked what the scene was like backstage, Ryan said, "Well, I'm glad you're on that couch."

We must say this was the most boring night of IDOL ever. For the first night of actual competition in a new season, we hoping for me. We just feel that the male contestants just do not have nearly the same star quality as some of the previous seasons' contestants...We'll see what happens tonight when the gals perform!
