We spied revelers wearing Justin Giunta for Subversive Jewelry (perfect, considering Giunta had won the Swarovski Award for Accessory Design at the CFDA just two nights earlier); also in the sold-out crowd: designers Jason Wu, Brian Reyes and Prabal Gurung.

In the evening's spirit of celebrating talent, learning, and creativity, Gurung taught me a new word: Boots! “It's an exclamation," he explained in his charming accent. “It means something's agreeable,”
