Fire Island on the Mind...
Happy April
Brought to you by Ksubi Jeans
With many Fire Island shares beginning in just ONE MONTH we have some big news:
This just in: Looks like the the Pavilion may just be ready in time for the coming summer season, which is right around the corner. We hate to rain on the parade, but we have a few criticisms about the new structure...
Looks like there is no outdoor deck where high tea used to be. We are hoping that the bottom level is going to be open so we could still booze it up outside! How unfortunate it would be to have no outdoor area in the Pavilion.
Where in the world are they going to put the HUUUUGE Fire Island calendar!
It also looks exactly the same as the old building. They had the opportunity to do something really cool like build a roofdeck so that you could see the incredible sunsets. We are excited to see what they have in store for us though. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised!
Some more Fire Island news:
REALITY DOCUMENTARY SET TO FILM IN FIRE ISLAND PINES THIS SUMMER! The folks from Fire Island Pines that are responsible for the legendary Tea Dance, High Tea, Pavilion Nightclub, Ascension Beach Party and a jam-packed summer roster of amazing events have assembled a production team to film the staff of the 2007 season. Here’s your chance to strut your stuff, both on and off camera…all summer long! We’re looking for a few good men (and women too) to become members of our ‘Summer Wonderland’ service team. So to all those struggling actors, aspiring singer-songwriters and starving artists; currently working as waiters, bartenders, retailers, and baristas, or any other newbie to their trade…come and ‘audition/interview’ for a spot on our “reality” service staff. For the first time ever, all of the “REAL” antics and shenanigans that the Pines is oh so famous for will be caught on tape. This is your chance to make history and share your summer with all of the other revelers around the country, and maybe…around the world! We are looking for the most energetic, charismatic, dramatic (and of course customer-service oriented) staff than ever before. Be more than a waiter or bartender this summer. Let your individuality work for you and be ready for that casting call or open audition while you’re already at work! The production team will start traveling at the end of March. They will be touring many popular gay cities across the US. Check for advertisements at your favorite gay hot-spot or rag. You can also visit www.thepinesfireisland.com for a complete listing of all planned destination cities and dates! You may also email us: Write a short story about yourself (1 page or more), and tell us why you would make a valuable addition to our staff, and why you are destined to be in the film. Include a current copy of your resume, showing your service industry experience. In addition, send 2-3 candid photographs, and any video clip you may have of yourself just being “you.” Get creative if you’d like! Remember, the more dramatic – the better! Those boys and girls that “cause the most commotion” will be contacted to start the application process! (so be sure to provide all of the necessary contact information.) Email all of the requested criteria to beastar@thepinesfireisland.com to apply. Do you have what it takes? This is more than a job – It’s an adventure.
And hey – you even get paid!
Are you up for the challenge?
THAT'S ALL!
